Intersolar North America 2022 Conference Recap

  • News

Nor-Cal Controls was pleased to return to Intersolar North America (ISNA) in 2022— our first trade show after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic. It was great to be back in the trade show environment and interact with people face-to-face again—something we’d sorely missed over the past two years. Intersolar North America provided an excellent opportunity to meet with people and create new industry partnerships and reconnect with existing partners.

The conference was held on January 12 -14, in Long Beach, Ca. It gave us the opportunity to connect with many segments of the solar and storage industry such as integrators, installers, owners, developers, utilities, technology providers, policymakers and key stakeholders from around the world. Attendees had the opportunity to experience the latest solar + storage solutions and gain insights regarding grid resilience, utility-scale solar and storage systems, and the push for a transition to renewable energy.

Our team attended the show with no expectations regarding the turnout of attendees. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of traffic from both new and existing customers, as well as vendors looking for partnerships. It was beneficial to learn more about other aspects of constructing solar projects and to discuss updates across the renewable energy industry as a whole. We saw companies that supply the steel for projects, ones that mount the solar panels, as well as those that clean and maintain them. It was exciting to encounter all the different businesses that work from A to Z on solar projects.

We encountered many developers who are beginning to incorporate battery systems into their projects. Many of the people we spoke with were interested in Nor-Cal's Energy Management System (EMS) and how we can integrate our solutions into their battery storage projects.

Our favorite part about attending ISNA was the opportunity to network with the growing solar and storage community. The conference afforded many opportunities to meet people face-to-face and discuss potential opportunities and new ideas. We worked with some of our current customers, like Burns & McDonnell, EDP Renewables, and McCarthy Construction, to name a few. We were also able to meet with some new EPCs and owners in the market, allowing us the opportunity to continue to grow our renewable industry partnerships.

By the end of the first day alone, we felt we'd already made many solid connections, and we could call the show a success!

Nor-Cal will be hitting the road at upcoming solar and storage industry events in 2022. While plans for any future events can quickly change due to ongoing pandemic challenges, we hope to see you at the following events we plan to attend:
